Gonex Tactical & Military Backpack Oxford 45L

Talk about a sturdy backpack...this thing is made for the long haul. That's a bad hiking joke. Aaaanyway, the first thing you'll notice with this backpack is how incredibly well made it is. The stitching would make my grandmother proud and the big bulky zippers mean you'll have more time to hike and less time trying to un-wedge a zipper when it gets stuck...cause this one probably won't. The backpack material itself is very strong and leaves me confident that it won't tear or rip for a long LONG time.

Not only is it incredibly well constructed, it has a lot of room too. As you can see in my video i have a boatload of stuff in there with plenty of room to spare. With all that space and all the weight you'll probably be carrying, you'll be happy that this backpack has a system of padding that allows for comfortable carrying and allows for proper airflow to keep your back from getting really sweaty.

Overall, this backpack is a home run. It's well made, it has lots of room, and it also has the molle system for expansion in the future. If you're looking for something that will last years, look no further than this.

Startonight Wall Art Canvas Maple Tree

I'm not an art connoisseur and I don't consider myself fancy enough to have much beyond primitive and country decorations in our home, but I was really drawn to this painting. Not only is it a beautiful canvas oil painting of a maple tree, it has a secret super power: it has a night mode! Basically, it has this eerie glow to it that sets up this sort of haunting night scene. Unfortunately, I didn't think mine was nearly as apparent at night compared to what the stock photo looks like even though I did let it "charge" under light for about 2-3 hours. I'm not sure if the sun would make a noticeable difference, but I intend to find out soon enough.

--- Just watched my video and saw that you can't see anything at all when I have the lights out. Sort of goes to support what I was saying about the glow not being as bright as I hoped. ---

The canvas itself is a better than average quality and the whole painting can really bring an entire room together. The colors are vibrant and the image makes me wonder if this tree has a story. That might sound kind of dumb...but I guess I look at it and just think. Overall, this is a really nice painting but I'm just a little disappointed that the picture doesn't glow as well as I had hoped.

Bridgford Shelf-Stable Honey BBQ Chicken Sandwich

If you're a prepper, love military food, or just want to be prepared for emergencies then you should check out the shelf-stable food line up by Bridgford. This honey barbecued chicken sandwich tastes reasonable and would definitely be a welcome treat in an emergency situation. The breading was fluffy but the filling was a little lacking. Not in flavor, but in actual capacity. It's obviously not the most flavorful thing in the world, but when you know it'll last 3 years on a shelf, you shouldn't be complaining too much anyway. Overall, this will definitely get you out of a bad situation when food is scarce. The flavors are pretty reasonable and just the one sandwich felt pretty filling. American Golden Oak Wood Barrel

I have never felt so classy in my entire life! I currently have my barrel filled with Johnnie Walker Black Label (even though it's been aged 12 years already) simply because it's just so cool to be able to offer guests a bit of whiskey right out of this tiny barrel. The barrel is well crafted and feels rather solid all around. Nothing is loose or wobbly and I haven't seen a single leak so I can vouch for how well it functions!

There are really only two things I would like to see altered in future releases. The first is some way to fasten the stand to the barrel. Don't get me wrong, this set up is largely secure once you have the barrel filled, but accidents do happen and they could be mitigated by some form of clip or something else that would fasten the stand to the barrel. The other alteration I'd like to see is the inclusion of some form of funnel. After I got this in the mail, I had to turn to the store and buy a little funnel because I didn't want to risk spilling my whiskey. Neither of these are a big problem and don't warrant a reduction in my rating of the product.

Overall, this is a really cool way to store/age your alcohol and it will definitely be a conversation piece when your guests see it. It is well crafted, it looks neat, and it performs its function well!

Enlightened Ambience - Black Amber Votive Candles

WOW! I've never been able to smell candles that are wrapped in cellophane and in a cardboard box before. These are strong, but in a good way! They're not overpowering, they've never given me a headache...but I keep one under the seat of my car just because they smell so good and they don't even need to burn. These are easily one of the best smelling candles I've come across in my life. I'm sort of a Yankee Candle junkie, but I think I just found my new guilty pleasure. I haven't done enough research to know for sure, but I'd love it if they sold these candles in a large jar size.

The only thing that disappointed me about these candles is the that they didn't come with any sort of plastic or thin metal enclosure around them. The first one I burnt melted into a puddle within 30 minutes. Luckily I had it in something that caught most of the wax. I tried a few different enclosures but haven't been able to nail down the perfect housing yet. But to be completely honest, it doesn't even bother me. These smell so good that they could burn out in 5 minutes and I wouldn't even be a little upset.

I feel like such a dork for getting so pumped up about candles, but I can't recommend these enough. I love the smell so much and wish I could have it with me all the time. I absolutely love these!

Maxam SKPKWD Brown Pakkawood Liner Lock Knife

I really had high hopes for this knife as it looks really clean and classic. Unfortunately, it leaves a lot to be desired. When I got the knife out, it sort of fell cheap right away. I get that it's only $12.50 (at time of writing) but it was absolutely dull when I got it. Sure, I can get behind needing to put a little extra edge on a knife when you get it, but this didn't even have an edge to sharpen! I was really disappointed by the dullness out of the box.

I will say that the knife does look really cool and I feel that it's weighted well. Fully extended, it's the length of the majority of my forearm. It has a smooth action, it clicks into place, it doesn't snag anywhere, and it's easy to fling it open. I love that last part...makes me feel like I'm in a movie! Upon closer inspection, I found that the screws seemed to be rounded out which made me feel like I'd be hard pressed to work on this knife if I ever needed to.

Overall, this knife didn't impress me. It was very dull, it felt like a cheap carnival knife, and I don't think it'll last long with regular use. As I mentioned above, it does have some nice qualities as well, but not enough to redeem it.

SoundFit Plus Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker

If you live an active lifestyle but you can't live without your music, you should definitely consider this. It's dust proof, waterproof, and shock proof so you can rest assured that it's built to take a beating. The sleek design is complemented by some very outstanding sound quality compared to similar models. What I found that really sets this speaker apart is the ability to mount it to a tripod or a screw-on bike mount, etc. With a similar speaker set I needed to use the included lanyard and tie it to my handlebars to bring this along. Not anymore!

The speakers were a breeze to connect to my iPhone and I would imagine an Android would be just as easy. The sound quality was much more impressive than I anticipated. Everything came through clearly and nothing sounded muted or distorted, even at the highest volume. Speaking of volume, these were pretty loud considering the small size. The on-board controls make it a breeze to play/pause/skip music and you can also use it to make phone calls as well!

Overall, this speaker is a great addition to my outdoor gear and goes with me quite a few places. It may not be a power house sound system, but for what it does it definitely does very well. It looks great, sounds great, and has so many protective features that make it ideal for an outdoor adventure.
